ProtoCall Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) partners with ProtoCall Services to provide after-hours crisis services for Mason students. ProtoCall is a crisis hotline staffed by licensed clinicians to provide crisis intervention and referral services whenever CAPS is closed, including 24 hours on weekends, university breaks, and holidays. Students may call ProtoCall for reasons ranging from anxiety or relationship distress to suicidal ideation or other serious mental health issues.

If you are a student in crisis:

Please call CAPS at 703-993-2380 during our business hours. When we are closed, call 703-993-2380, and you will be directed to “press 1” in order to be connected directly to a ProtoCall crisis counselor.

Please see our Crisis Support page and our Make an Appointment page.
