For mental health crises when we are closed, please call CAPS at 703-993-2380 and select option 1, to connect with an after-hours crisis counselor. Please visit our After-Hours Crisis Support page.

Another option for support is the Emotional Support Line, which is staffed by the Center for Psychological Services (CPS) through George Mason University’s Psychology Department:

You can call the CPS Emotional Support Line to speak confidentially with a trained provider about stress, anxiety, depression, or grief. the phone line is anonymous & confidential. The support line number is: 703-215-1898. Their hours of operation are Monday-Sunday from 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM. For further information please read CPS Emotional Support Line.
