How do I make an appointment and what if I need help today?
Here at CAPS, we strive to make our services timely and accessible. Making an appointment at CAPS can happen today. As a Mason student, you have some great options including:
- Schedule an Initial Consultation (IC) by calling us at 703-993-2380 or in person (SUB-I, Room 3129) during regular business hours (9-5 pm). During an IC our experts in college student mental health will ask a lot of questions, you can ask questions too, and we will come up with a plan together.
- If you are unsure what you need and would like to speak with a clinician that same day you will be directed to speak with our Check-in Counselor. They will quickly and efficiently help you navigate to the most appropriate service available to you here at CAPS.
- Alternatively, you can Walk into CAPS between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and meet with a clinician. Please note that these walk-in appointments are offered on a first-come first-serve basis. We carefully assess the needs of every student that seeks services at CAPS. As such, it is difficult to determine how long you may have to wait to be seen during our walk-in hours. We will make every effort to have your needs assessed as soon as possible.
