Psychology Extern
Isaiah is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (also known as Divine Mercy University). He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and also studied philosophy during that time. Before he began his graduate studies, Isaiah lived in Denver and provided outreach to the unhoused population by providing support, resources, and accompaniment. This work was life-changing for Isaiah and is what most inspired him to pursue Clinical Psychology. His clinical experiences involve working with inner-city schools, private practices, and community-based mental health clinics. Isaiah’s approach to therapy is integrative and utilizes various approaches based on the needs of whoever he is working with. This generally involves a psychodynamic and interpersonal foundation but includes the integration of CBT and ACT skills. Isaiah believes that therapy is a profound journey together towards a genuine understanding of self and fullness of life in all its aspects. In his free time, Isaiah works as a professional drummer for the NFL, enjoys learning new languages, teaches young musicians, and loves to spend time with his friends and family.
