Psychology Intern
Noor Alwani, M.Ed. is a doctoral intern at Counseling and Psychological Services. She attended the University of Southern California as an undergraduate, completing her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Noor then went on to complete her master’s degree in psychology at the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development, where she is now completing her Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology. Noor’s prior clinical experiences include working as a staff therapist at the UVA Hospital’s Family Stress Clinic, an integrated behavioral health clinic within UVA’s Department of Family Medicine, as well as working with students at UVA’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Her other clinical experiences include working with emerging adults, adolescents, and families at an outpatient multidisciplinary clinic, as well as students in Virginia public schools.
Noor is thrilled to be working with Mason students this year and invites clients to co-create a therapeutic environment in which their needs can be met. In the therapy room, Noor integrates perspectives from interpersonal, systems-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to meet students where they are, inclusive of factors driven by context, identity, and systems of power and privilege.
