She uses mindfulness, feminist, person-centered, cognitive, and solution-focused techniques to encourage and support students in working toward their goals. Dr. Minieri’s professional interests include issues related to gender, sexual identity, and sexuality; social justice advocacy work and outreach on college campuses; and interpersonal violence prevention. Services provided at CAPS include serving as the Training Director and liaison to LGBTQ Resources.

Dr. Minieri’s approach to supervision is relational, culturally-informed, and developmental. She seeks to build a collaborative and egalitarian relationship that acknowledges and works to minimize the power dynamics inherent in supervisory relationships as much as possible. Dr. Minieri acknowledges and discusses the role of context and lived experience on the supervisory relationship and in understanding client concerns. She seeks to support trainees in working toward their professional goals, both short and long term. She uses a variety of tools in supervision, including watching tape. Her hope is that you feel seen and supported during your work together!
