Psychology Intern

Zahraa is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University and a fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis Fellowship Program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from George Mason University and went on to complete a Master’s in Behavior and Decision Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, where she explored individual and group decision-making through the lens of social neuroscience.

Zahraa’s clinical and research interests focus on the intersection of identity development and trauma. She is especially committed to understanding intersectionality through an integrative lens that brings together psychological, cultural, and systemic perspectives. Her work examines how these forces shape both personal and collective identities, as well as the ways we relate to others. In her clinical work, Zahraa takes a culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach to support students as they navigate life transitions, manage stress, and explore the stories that shape who they are and who they want to be.
