Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Diane Nickeson-Mendheim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia and Florida. She earned her MSW from Florida State University and her BA in English from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. Diane’s approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths-based, helping clients address physical and emotional pain, cope with stress, and move through adversity.
Diane has lived in the Philippines, Albania, Slovenia, and Belgium, specializing in cross-cultural practice and helping expats adjust to the unique experience of living abroad. Prior to living and working overseas, Diane helped patients and families navigate the social and emotional challenges of medical care, with a focus on helping clients manage grief, loss, and bereavement. Diane is trained in emotional freedom technique (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), guided imagery, mindfulness, and yoga instruction. Diane has a special interest in somatic approaches to healing anxiety and trauma, and in helping students navigate ADHD. Diane enjoys reading, walking her dogs, yoga, and traveling with her family.
