Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Roberta is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Virginia and North Carolina. She earned a Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College, as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law. She has worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups to provide support, encouragement, and therapeutic guidance through many types of challenges. Her varied clinical experience includes counseling at a community mental health agency and in private practice, providing post-adoption services to families, serving as a bereavement coordinator with a local hospice, and providing assistance to those impacted by a cancer diagnosis.

Roberta takes a holistic approach to counseling incorporating client strengths, self-care, and mindfulness strategies. She prioritizes creating a safe space for students so that they may explore, reflect and transform as they improve their self-esteem, self-compassion, and coping skills. Roberta has significant experience and interest in helping clients work through issues of loss and grief, arising from a multitude of loss experiences and life transitions.

Roberta’s self-care includes spending time with family and friends, attending sporting events and theater performances, and taking long walks while listening to an audiobook. She also enjoys traveling and trying foods from all around the world!
