Psychology Intern
Sojung is a psychology intern at CAPS. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and is currently a 5th year Ph.D. candidate in Counseling Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington. Having lived in South Korea, Australia, London, and different parts of the U.S., Sojung is passionate about understanding how culture, identity, and life experiences influence people’s perspectives and relationships.
Sojung has provided therapy in a variety of settings, including a sex therapy clinic, VA hospital, and correctional facility, where she worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns (e.g., romantic relationship concerns, identity exploration, trauma, grief and loss, sexual concerns, life transitions, aging-related concerns). Sojung’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, warm, and culturally responsive, drawing from emotionally focused therapy, interpersonal process therapy, attachment theory, and multicultural and social justice perspectives. She strives to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to explore their experiences.
