Psychology Intern
Sally (Yejin) Lee is a psychology intern at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at Georgia State University.
Sally has provided psychological services to emerging adults at college and university counseling centers serving diverse student populations, including students with marginalized racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic identities. She has worked with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, interpersonal concerns, identity development, and adjustment. Her clinical experience includes individual and group therapy, crisis and walk-in consultations, and outreach programming. She also has experience conducting psychological assessments with children and adults in a private practice setting, including intellectual, developmental, and psychosexual assessments.
Sally’s approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered, strengths-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles, with a strong emphasis on multiculturalism and understanding clients within their cultural, structural, and contextual environments. Her approach is influenced by her experiences growing up as a third culture kid in South Korea, the United States, Canada, and Kenya. She approaches therapy with deep respect for each client’s lived experiences, and she strives to create spaces where clients’ cultural identities are centered, valued, and meaningfully integrated into the therapeutic process.
Outside of clinical work, Sally enjoys indoor rock climbing, hanging out with friends, engaging in spiritual practices, traveling, and journaling.
