Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Michelle Lam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech. Michelle has more than 10 years of experience providing direct mental health services in a variety of settings including non-profit agencies, community services boards, and private practice. In these settings, Michelle has provided supported employment services, in-home supports, individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention. Her clinical skills include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness training. At CAPS, Michelle’s intention is to use a person-centered, solution focused approach to help individuals develop skills to meet short term goals. Michelle’s areas of interest include anxiety, mood disorders, stress management, interpersonal conflicts and concerns, self-exploration, and challenges related to life transitions.
