Psychology Extern
Kycel is a psychology extern at CAPS. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Hollins University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at American University. Coming from a small tight-knit community on Saipan, Kycel is passionate about exploring how culture, identity, and sociocultural factors intersect to impact individuals’ mental health and life experiences. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and culturally responsive, drawing primarily from CBT and person-centered principles while emphasizing collaboration. Kycel is especially interested in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal concerns, adjustment concerns, and life transitions. She aims to provide a warm and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and empowered to explore their experiences and personal goals.
