Justin (he/him/his) is a doctoral candidate from the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Maryland (UMD) and is currently completing his predoctoral internship here at CAPS. Justin received his Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from UMD. Prior to pursuing graduate studies, Justin served as a residential counselor in group homes for adults recovering from mental illness and as a psychiatric counselor in a community hospital setting. During his graduate training, Justin has enjoyed providing psychotherapy for diverse individuals in university counseling centers and community clinic settings. Passionate about the arts and social justice, Justin also had a career in music and education which included facilitating bridge-building programs for youth in the U.S. and Israel. His approach to therapy draws on interpersonal, psychodynamic, and relational-cultural theories.
