Licensed Professional Counselor
Allison Funk (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from James Madison University and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University. Allison has experience working with individuals in a variety of settings including college counseling, community mental health, and private practice. She approaches therapy from an interpersonal, feminist, and multicultural lens. Allison utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)/trauma focused CBT, solution focused therapy, existentialism, and mindfulness in her work with clients. She prioritizes creating a safe space to foster authenticity, therapeutic rapport, and self-compassion. Her clinical interests include trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, spiritual exploration, life transitions, and stress management. Allison enjoys knitting/crocheting, reading, and spending time with family/friends.
