Associate Director, Clinical Services
Alex (he/him/his) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and completed his internship and fellowship in counseling at university counseling centers. Alex has primarily worked in counseling center settings but also has experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. Alex operates from an integrative theoretical orientation, incorporating interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral theory, with an emphasis on multicultural concerns. Areas of interest include identity and self-exploration, mood disorders, relationship concerns, and LGBTQ+ concerns. As the Associate Director, Clinical Services, Alex oversees the clinical system and services for CAPS. He constantly works to identify areas of improvement and how CAPS can better serve our Mason students. Alex also serves as the CAPS liaison to Disability Services.
