Shannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Crisis Intervention Counselor. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Regis University in Denver, CO. Shannon recently relocated to Virginia from Greenville, NC where she worked at East Carolina University’s Center for Counseling and Student Development. She also has experience working with at-risk youth in day treatment programs located in East St. Louis, IL and Biloxi, MS. Shannon’s work stems from an integrative approach employing principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Shannon’s areas of interest include crisis management, behavior modification, stress management, anxiety, and adjustment/transition issues.
