Alex is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Virginia. He received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Master’s degree in psychology from the University of West Florida. Alex completed his internship in counseling at the University of West Florida’s Counseling Center and completed his fellowship in counseling at North Carolina State University’s Counseling Center. Alex has primarily worked in counseling center settings but also has experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. Alex operates from an integrative theoretical orientation, incorporating interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral theory, with an emphasis on multicultural concerns. Areas of interest include identity and self-exploration, mood disorders, relationship concerns, and LGBTQ+ concerns. Alex also serves as a liaison to LGBTQ Resources.
