Diane Knight

Psychological
Services

After leaving her hometown of Warren, Ohio, Diane Knight attended Bethany College in West Virginia for her Bachelor's degree, and then went to Yale University to complete a Masters of Divinity in Counseling and Theology. She completed an M.S. in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College of Baltimore, and finished her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland. Before joining the Center's staff in 1985, Dr. Knight worked in several in-patient treatment facilities, and had a private practice in pastoral counseling doing long-term individual and group therapy.

As Assistant Director for Learning Services, Dr. Knight has also worked with students on a wide range of learning issues, including time management, exam and performance anxiety, developing effective study skills, surviving the thesis process, and managing learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder in a university environment. She is trained and experienced in diagnostic and clinical assessment skills, and does consulting on research methodology, program evaluation and WEB site development.

A self-described "computer junkie," Diane looks for creative ways to utilize the power of the computer, personally and professionally. She is the Counseling Center's WEB Master and the designated in-house computer consultant. In her spare time, theater, music, art, dance, weaving, beading and church activities are pursued.
